![]() HOSPITAL MONITORING PROGRAMS |

EnHealth has developed a program for
hospitals to monitor and evaluate potential employee exposures typically
found within hospital environments. The more common contaminants include
ethylene oxide (EtO), gluteraldehyde, formaldehyde, tuberculosis,
bioaerosols including fungi and bacteria (viable and non-viable),
bloodborne pathogens, asbestos, lead-based paint, and radon. As an
example, we can evaluate sterilizing units using EtO by performing exposure
surveys and training hospital personnel to establish continuous monitoring
programs. Monitoring and testing of ventilation and laboratory hoods is an
essential part of determining potential employee exposures and is conducted
as part of most exposure assessments. We can also conduct OSHA compliance
audits of hospital safety and compliance factors, and develop control
measures to keep exposures to airborne contaminants as low as achievable.
Most hospitals require the development of programs for OSHA compliance, such as the Bloodborne Pathogen Rule, Respiratory Standard, and the Hazardous Communication Standard, all part of EnHeatlh's Hospital Plan. In addition, we can provide the training of hospital personnel for implementation of these programs. |
